My book We Are Not These Bodies: On Fathers, Sons, and Indian American Belonging is coming out in 2027 from the University of North Carolina Press.

Growing up in small-town Oklahoma, I resented how my Indian heritage set me apart. It was only years later, searching for a sense of home, that I would start to question all I had assumed about what my immigrant parents had taught me. Inspired by the circular Hindu ritual of the aarti, this memoir in essays chronicles my attempt to return to my cultural inheritance on my own terms.
